Introduction

Dr. Sandra Transchel joined the Smeal College of Business in November 2008. She received her PhD from the University of Mannheim, Germany in September 2008 and graduated in March 2004 with a Master degree in Business Mathematics from the Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg, Germany. Currently, Dr. Transchel teaches a course in Supply Chain Management.

Current Research

Dr. Transchel's current research interest focuses on perishable product inventory control in retailing and on the interface of inventory control and marketing. In particular, she is interested in analyzing replenishment policies of perishable products, e.g., fresh food, and problems where pricing decisions are considered jointly with logistics decisions in retail or manufacturing environments.
