Introduction

Mike is the Assistant Director, Business and Finance, for Penn State Executive Programs in the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University. He joined the organization in January 2001. In this position he is responsible for managing all of the business operations of Executive Programs. This includes developing the annual budget, monitoring revenue and expenses, approving all expenditures, establishing program tuition and fees, as well as being engaged in the overall general management of Executive Education Programs. Mike is also the program manager for several open and custom programs each year. In this role, he helps facilitate programs while integrating the program concepts with the participant expectations and experiences.

Prior to joining Penn State Executive Programs, Mike was an executive recruiter with Sterling Systems, Inc., an executive recruiting firm specializing in identifying top talent in the Information Systems/Technology and Consulting industries. His clients included major international firms such as Ernst & Young, Andersen Consulting, Cap Gemini America, Texas Instruments, SAP, and others.

In addition to his responsibilities in Smeal, Mike has previous Penn State employment experience, initially as a Budget Analyst in the Office of Budget and Resource Analysis and later as the Business Manager for the Center for the Performing Arts and Pennsylvania Centre Stage. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with an emphasis in Finance from the Penn State Smeal College of Business. His experience with Executive Programs has been rewarding and positive, but his most important vocation is being a dad to his daughter and son.
