Introduction
Dr. Zan Huang is an Assistant Professor of the Department Supply Chain and Information Systems, Smeal College of Business, the Pennsylvania State University. His primary research interest is the data analysis and modeling research in recommender systems, social networks, process managment, science and technology innovations, and financial markets. He has particularly focused on research on data with the inherent graph/network representations and the network modeling and graph analysis methods. His work has been published in Managment Science, INFORMS Journal on Computing, ACM Transactions on Information Systems, IEEE Intelligent Systems, Decision Support Systems, Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, Journal of Nanoparticle Research, and ACM Journal on Educational Resources in Computing. In 2005 he received the Best Dissertation Award at the International Conference on Information Systems. In 2004, his work has won the Best Paper Award at the Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems (WITS 2004) and the Best Paper Award of the SIGDSS track at the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS 2004).
Zan has been teaching MIS undergraduate courses in the areas of System Analysis and Design, Introduction to Management Information Systems, Business Data Communications,and Introduction to Basic Operations Management. Zan has a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizonaand a B.Eng. in Management Information Systems from Tsinghua University, Beijing.
