David serves as the Director of the Applied Professional Experience Program (APEX).  APEX is an experiential learning program in which teams of Smeal students work on a business challenge currently facing a participating organization.  In doing so, students bring together the various skills and abilities they have acquired at Penn State as final preparation for their post-Smeal career.  APEX is open to Smeal MBA students and to Smeal undergraduates in the Sapphire Leadership Academic Program (http://www.smeal.psu.edu/uge/sapphire).

David also serves Penn State as an instructor in the Management & Organization Department where he teaches in the areas of Leadership, Management, Organizational Change, Project Management and Entrepreneurship.

Prior to joining the Smeal College of Business, David had an extensive career in business and real estate.  He served as Chief Operating Officer for the Friedman Real Estate Group, was manager of global strategy for Global Crossing’s corporate real estate group, and had an independent consulting practice focused in the real estate and construction industries.  Early in his professional career, he spent four years working in corporate real estate with Xerox and two years with the Advanced Building Technologies Group of McDevitt & Street Company.   In addition, David has taught at both the graduate and undergraduate level in the College of Engineering at Penn State.

David is a proud Penn State alumnus having earned both a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University.  An even prouder husband and father, he lives in State College, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Lisa, and he has two daughters, Michelle and Kristen.
